ONE

I started working with Stephanie Chefas in 2014 when she invited me to produce a piece for a show she was curating in San Fransisco.  In 2015 she told me she was going to open a gallery in Portland, OR and asked if I'd be part of it.  I didn't hesitate.  A year ago this month I had two pieces hanging in the inaugural exhibition of Stephanie Chefas Projects.  I am excited to tell you that this month Stephanie celebrates with ONE an anniversary group exhibit.  If you're in the northwest, I hope you can drop in and congratulate her.  Details below:

From daring solo exhibits with David Bray, Brian Donnelly, and Meryl Pataky to group shows with distinct concepts such as "Selfie" and "Heatwave", the last year has been an exciting ride at Stephanie Chefas Projects. We are delighted to round out 2016 with "ONE", an anniversary group exhibit celebrating twelve months of cutting-edge art. The exhibition will showcase a blend of 14 local and international artists who have graced our gallery walls over the past year and who will continue to adorn them in 2017. The show is also an expression of gratitude to both the city of Portland and all the guests and friends who have walked through our door.  Here's looking forward to another tremendous year!
“ONE” features an assemblage of mixed media works, oil paintings, photography, collage, watercolor, and archival paper cuts from the talents of John Felix Arnold III, Alexandra Becker-Black, David Bray, Brian Donnelly, Lola Dupre, Delfin Finley, Shawn Huckins, Dan Lam, Mike Lee, Mako Miyamoto, Nathan McKee, Jeff Ramirez, Erik Mark Sandberg and Betsy Walton.
The opening reception for "ONE" will be held at Stephanie Chefas Projects on FridayNovember 11th from 6-9pm. Stephanie Chefas Projects is located in Portland, Oregon at 305 SE 3rd Avenue on the second floor of the Urban Row building. The exhibition will be on view through December 9th, 2016 and is free and open to the public.

Destroy & Create

I will be contributing a custom half pipe to Destroy & Create this February at Art Whino in Maryland. With over 40 international artists in this exhibition it is sure to impress.  I hope you will get chance to check it out.

------

Art Whino teams up with Boundless Brooklyn to present Destroy & Create, a group art show that celebrates the release of the new Boundless Halfpipe model kit.  Boundless Brooklyn, which creates DIY miniature sets and has sponsored a number of art shows around the U.S., Canada and Europe, is honoring the skateboard culture with the release of its brand new miniature skate ramp.  As the show name hints, Art Whino pays homage to the Skate and Destroy skate culture and will be curating a diverse group of its artists to trick out the halfpipe model kits. Artist backgrounds range from illustrators to fine artists, and they’ll present a wide array of interpretations of what the skate culture means to them.

Saturday, February 20th, from 8-11pm

Location:
Art Whino Gallery
171 American Way
National Harbor, MD 20745

Show runs until March 20th
